THIS MONTHí¢â‚¬â„¢S EDITOR: THE NEW FORMS FESTIVAL

Since this is our first issue back, we decided on a curator that is not a single person, but a festival. This festival just so happens to be our closely affiliated entity, the New Forms Festival. Is this a bit biased and self-promotional? Perhaps. However, the festival is full of innovative ideas, people and projects, that we hope our first edition of Mash will do some justice.

Profile: New Forms happens in Vancouver every year in mid September, and has done so for about six years now. Its focus is Art and New Media, displayed through a gallery installation, performance art, roundtable discussions and four nights of live electronic music and visuals. The theme of this yearí¢â‚¬â„¢s festival is Transformations: the convergence of media art, electronic music and the exploration of culture, showcasing a number of artists from across the globe whose work exemplifies this theme.
