A New Diversion, A Super Vision Cont.1 - By Andrew Lindy

Continued from page 1. If youí¢â‚¬â„¢ve never heard it, just to hear it, if you really hear it, it is enough to change your entire life.

There is a wound so close that you doní¢â‚¬â„¢t even realize it (and its dominoing influence.) It is so intimate, like anything that is itself, it doesní¢â‚¬â„¢t always know itself. The mind; it is what it is; it is what has evolved. As we said, the world that we make is the world that we are. And yet, right in the heart of it, that very opposite is true: You are yourself, yet you are also outside yourself, aware that you ARE. Giving rise to reflection and change: the same inside-outside force that splits the cell and delineates evolution. You talk ABOUT yourself, plan FOR yourself, (paradoxically doing something FOR the unified thing that is doing: complete, unified, yet seeking improvement.) This is the way we subsist, you are used to it, you are resilient, you take this massive rupture totally for granted: we are actually divided-in on ourselves.

How does this relate to my experience, and to the well-being of the community, in terms of the root of human experience?

We all know the transition from childhood í¢â‚¬“ this pure awareness: sometimes we fall and we get hurt, and we carry on without reflection, we are with the world and experience; later on, we become aware of ourselves in the world, ití¢â‚¬â„¢s gets a little clumsier and the child starts up with all his bratty shit, me me me and the rest. Sheí¢â‚¬â„¢s seen the reflection of her own footprint. This is really as far as Ií¢â‚¬â„¢d like to go on this because the wound is all there by then, and the later state where you picture that it is me against the world is only the normal tides of the child through the flood beyond the first sense of nudity in the garden. Although, against, is a predominant reality for most of us.

We see, we see ourselves, and we know that we see, but there is a simple simple phase of this which for some completely unknown reason (no one knows how come) escapes all but the rarest rarest spawn of woman. As far as our place í¢â‚¬“ in, with, or against the world - trying to see and improve ourselves - we are looking from the thing weí¢â‚¬â„¢re trying to see. This sets up a major hindrance in the original freedom, with the new challenge of life-planning, where we are continually confronted by greed, ignorance and anger. It is so simple. But (the dangling) eyeball can not see itself.

Occasionally a person stares squarely enough into the reflex-ion, and sees not only the content in the mirror, but the mirror itself.

The root: the mechanics of the wound: It would seem that there is my awareness of the world, and then there is the world of which I am aware. And it seems there is a break here í¢â‚¬“ a division of two distinct things; but actually it is a break in awareness itself. It is a break in this single simple awareness. Suddenly, the í¢â‚¬Å“occasional personí¢â‚¬ opens her eyes to discern that awareness is not contained in my body but rather, the body is contained in (actually, as) awareness. Oh oops, I just solved the whole mystery of God and our (dis)connection to it. The light floods into the break and extinguishes the reflex, one sees that there is seeing, there is feeling, there is struggling, there is the body, but it is not my seeing, not my struggling, not my burden.

My senses, and all of the world, are happening within the space that I am.

Remember the deep peace that is your true self - that awesome ultimate presence you notice when you open your eyes first thing in the morning, before the animal saw his own footprints and said í¢â‚¬Å“I am an animal;í¢â‚¬ before the burden of your life-story floods into mind after such a peaceful rest - this awareness, this morning light, this gift which shines completely by itself, off of which we reflect and say í¢â‚¬Å“meí¢â‚¬ ; yet it is this presence itself that enables memory and the life-story that returns each morning; imagine just the pure lightpresence all day long, moment after moment, you make decisions and choices, free of the future and the past - you are neither apathetic nor self-possessed í¢â‚¬“ there is no situation past or future that one resists or fears or lacks energy for, making plans with clarity, NOW, and there is no menacing self í¢â‚¬“ built of future-or-past í¢â‚¬“ to cloud the call of otherí¢â‚¬â„¢s needs. My ex will want to kill me after this oration, but if only she had seen the sort of demon I was before I met her. Mind you, she is too lovely to conceive of something worse than the devil. Love, it is the morning again. Simple as it should be. A light suspended by nothing, just your open eyes, just this, a radiance with no discernible features, no individuality, no separateness, no belonging to me or you. It is like this all the time. Always has been, always will.
